bioRami Said Malek (Rami Malek) is an Egyptian-American actor who is known for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. He is also famous for his role in a television series Mr. Robot as Elliot Alderson. As an award-winning actor, Rami Malek is always be professional and show his dedication to his work.
Malek was born on May 12, 1981 in Los Angeles, California to an Egyptian Coptic Orthodox family. He graduated from the University of Evansville, Indiana in 2003 with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He then started his acting career through a small roles in television shows Gilmore Girls and got prominent recurring role in The War at Home in 2005. The following year, Rami Malek made his featured movie debut in Night at the Museum as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah.
He reprised his role in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014). He also participated as the supporting role in famous movies and television, including The Pacific (2010), The Master, Oldboy, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, all in 2012. Malek appeared in a dramatic movie Short Term 12 (2013) and in an independent movie Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (2013).
His acting for the drama thriller series Mr. Robot in 2015 is what got him public’s big attention. In that drama, he played a role as a morphine-addicted computer-hacker Elliot Alderson. The rising star Rami Malek then earned much critical acclaim. His amazing performance earned Golden Globe Award, the Dorian Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Satellite Award, Critics’ Choice Television Award for the Best Actor in a Drama Series, and TCA Award nominations. Malek also earned the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in 2016, making him the first Egyptian-American who won the Emmy for acting.

His star on the rise, Rami Malek starred in Buster’s Mal Heart and received positive feedbacks in 2016. Still in 2016, he was chosen as Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody that would release in November 2018. After the release of the movie, Rami Malek won several awards for his outstanding performance, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama from the Golden Globe Award, and Actor in a Leading Role from the Academy Award.
Malek was reportedly working on movie projects after the Bohemian Rhapsody. He played a role as the main villain in James Bond movie No Time to Die in 2019 that was supposed to release in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the release date moved to April 2, 2021. He also starred in a Warner Bros.’ crime thriller The Little Things that would release in January, 2021.
